There are also a number of web series exclusive to Popcornflix. The primary source of movies which are on the platform come from its parent company, Screen Media Ventures LLC. The Popcornflix site was formed in July 2010, before going into a live beta the following year in March. Similar free streaming providers include Sony Crackle and Tubi TV. Because it relies on this income, customers are provided with completely free content.
The provider funds its offering by using the revenue it receives from inserting adverts into its streamable content. Essentially, it’s a service that can be referred to as AVOD, or ad-supported video on demand. Popcornflix is a streaming service which operates slightly differently compared to the bigger companies such as Netflix and Amazon Prime TV.
